
Barack Obama
Barack Obama served as the 44th president of the United States and made history as the nation’s first Black commander-in-chief. He held office for two terms, from 2009 to 2017. Born and raised in Hawaii to parents from Kenya and Kansas, Obama graduated from Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he became president of the Harvard Law Review. After serving in the Illinois State Senate, he was elected as a U.S. senator representing Illinois in 2004. In 2009, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. Obama and his wife, Michelle, have two daughters, Malia and Sasha.
