Singer and bandleader Cab Calloway mastered the art of scat singing before securing a regular spot at Harlem's renowned Cotton Club. His breakthrough came in 1931 with the hit song Minnie the Moocher, which catapulted him to fame and made him one of the most beloved entertainers of the 1930s and '40s. Throughout his career, he performed on stage and in films, leaving a lasting impact on music and entertainment. Calloway passed away in 1994 at the age of 86.
