
George Crum
George Crum was an African American chef. He was the sun of an African American Father and a Native American mother. George loved to do two things cook and travel. He also worked as a hunter, guide, and cook in the Adiorndack mountains. During the summer of 1853 he began working at a restaurant called the Moon Lake House. It was there that he invented the potato chip. He first called them Potato crunchers. After inventing the potato chip Crum opened his own restaurant and it was a huge success.
