Jerry Lawson
Jerry Lawson revolutionized home video gaming in the 1970s by contributing to the development of the Fairchild Channel F, the first home gaming console with interchangeable cartridges. A native of New York, Lawson was among the few African American engineers involved in computing during the early days of the video game industry.
His passion for computing eventually led him to Silicon Valley in the 1970s, where he joined the Homebrew Computer Club as its only Black member at the time. During his time with the club, he encountered both Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak.
