Ralph Abernathy

Ralph David Abernathy Sr. was an American Baptist minister and civil rights activist, ordained in the Baptist tradition in 1948. A prominent leader in the civil rights movement, he was a close friend and mentor to Martin Luther King Jr., working alongside him in their efforts for social justice.
